Royal Funk formation at PJPJ on 20 April 2024. Music for everyone! This concert promises to be a true spectacle with no fewer than 10 top students from the Royal Conservatoire The Hague.

The funk formation is led by professional arranger, saxophonist and band leader Rolf Delfos, who hails from Leiden and also teaches at the Conservatory of Music. He is also known from the Netherlands' hippest Bigband "Licks & Brains".

Funk music originated in the 1960s and is a mixture of several movements such as Jazz (improvisation, horns, very rhythmic melodies), Rhythm & Blues (bluesy and singable melodies) and Rock (tight danceable groove and interplay, and electric instruments).
