Dune reserve Meijendel

In Meijendel a clear distinction can be made between three different areas: the outer dune, the central dune and the inner dune.

The differences between these areas ensure that you can orientate yourself well in Meijendel. Because the more you go towards the inner dune, the higher the vegetation. You can also know where you are by the sound of the birds. In the outer dune, the birds make short, loud noises. In the inner dune it is more densely vegetated and the birds sing more melodiously.

There is plenty to do and experience in Meijendel. For example, three beautiful hiking trails have been laid out, ranging from three to five kilometers. These walking routes take you along the most beautiful places in the area: valleys, the outer edge of Meijendel and to the sea. The largest part of Meijendel is freely accessible for holidaymakers. A passe-partout is only required for the Kijfhoek and Bierlap areas. You can request this from the Zuid-Hollands Landschap. In De Tapuit, the visitor center of Dunea, it is possible to buy a day ticket for Kijfhoek and Bierlap.

Nature Playgrounds
There are 3 playgrounds in Meijendel:
- On the corner of Van Alkemadelaan and Pompstationsweg
- in the heart of Meijendel next to De Tapuit
- The water playground and the Monkey Forest to discover and experience dunes and water.

Parking
Free parking spaces are available in Meijendel. P1 parking lot Meijendel (Kievietsduin) is the largest. This is right at the roundabout. The white posts indicate the walking path of 1.5 kilometers to the De Tapuit, visitor center Dunea. There are also two parking spaces at the visitor center. These places are especially for electric cars and here are the disabled places. More about parking.
