De Paauw – Town Hall Wassenaar
My Favorite Place: De Paauw – Town Hall Wassenaar
Where: Looking from the N44
Why: I was born in Wassenaar and after a long period in Voorschoten I return to Wassenaar; and then to the street where I was born. When we go to The Hague, we always drive via Den Deil on the N44. After a few hundred meters on the right-hand side, I am always pleasantly surprised by the beauty of De Paauw, far from the road, lying in the green. The stately building, about which I heard that Prince Frederik (son of King Willem I) lived there, has been owned by the municipality of Wassenaar since 1925. Apart from the town hall, the park is also well worth a stroll through. For me, this building remains without a doubt the most beautiful building in the municipality of Wassenaar.
