Why: At the crack of dawn around half past five, cattle trucks with horses and ponies come and go and are bustling with activity. At the barrier at the Voorstraat, Sjaak van Leeuwen and Souren Kanhai have been collecting fees from the municipality for many years, veterinarian Gerard Westgeest observes the physical condition of the animals.
