My Favorite Place: Park Backershagen
Where: On the lawn right behind the Rijnlands Lyceum
Why: Actually the entire stretch of Van Park de Paauw via Backershagen to Rust en Vreugd. Since Wassenaar restored these parks to how they were intended in the past, it has become incredibly beautiful here. If you enter the first park at Raadhuis de Paauw and then through Backershagen via Rust en Vreugd to the tunnel that goes under the A44, you are walking through such a beautiful park for about 1.5 hours. It helps that I have a dog ;-). You will come across a lot of hidden "secrets", such as the tea dome, the shell cave and of course the hidden beautiful country houses.
