Rosenburgherlaantje Voorschoten

My Favorite Place: The Rozenburgherlaantje in Voorschoten

Where: The Rozenburgherlaantje between the Veurseweg and the park Roosenburgh (with the cemetery and the Horsten behind it)

Why: I live within stumbling distance of this leafy path, where the seasons are always clearly visible. I start my day here with a walk with our dog Floo. While walking I think about my day and sometimes my life. The wind through my hair, the sun on my face or the rain slowly creeping through my clothes. I really like variety in my daily doings. My father in particular taught me the love of nature at an early age. Now that the Rozenburgherlaantje is so beautifully bordered by the meadows of van der Valk, it has acquired even more meaning for me.

What I find very unfortunate is that the palisades on the Veurseweg at the entrance of the Rozenburgherlaantje have fallen into disrepair. How beautiful it would be if the grandeur of times long gone was restored.
