My Favorite Place: Meijendel Viewpoint (also known as Col de Meijendel among racing cyclists)

Where: North Sea Route 2244 Wassenaar.

Why: At the Viewpoint you have a wonderful overview. Meijendel is a vast dune nature reserve of approximately 2000 hectares, which covers large parts of the municipality of Wassenaar and which is part of the Hollands Duin National Park. The total nature reserve is therefore enormous. Meijendel is also a water extraction area managed by Dunea. The landscape is very varied and therefore a beautiful area to visit. Densely wooded areas alternate with open sandy plains and lots of water offer you the opportunity to enjoy the Dutch nature here. Close to the beach and the Waalsdorpervlakte, you can fill your day here as a walker or cyclist. Ending a long cycling day via the North Sea Route on the beach of the Wassenaarse Slag is therefore the ideal combination.
